We're an Active School!
Cumann na mBunscol
Bhí lúchair orainn bheith ar ais ag imirt peile le gairid. Chuaigh muid go Dún Fionnchaidh agus bhuail muid le SN Máigh Rua agus SN an Glásáin.
Cispheil- Basketball
Today was our first day of basketball coaching with Andrew. And despite the windy weather, the session went very well and was good fun. We practised our passes, dribbling skills and shooting. Pupils enjoyed a new game called "Target". We learnt lots- including why a 'rainbow pass' isn't such a great idea!
Table Tennis ‐ Leadóg Boird
We invested in new table tennis equipment and enjoy a good game of ping‐pong now and again!
Great for speed and reaction skills, hand‐eye coordination and bat skills.
Pupils have learnt the rules and how to keep the score. They are improving all the time!

Gaelic Training
Tá lúchair orainn bheith as ais ag traenáil le Manus arís. A lán scileanna, cleachtaí, cluichí agus craic!
Orienteering
Plenty of skills involved in this PE lesson. Using a map, finding the controls, completing all 24 codes correctly, running and thinking! Féach ar na pictúirí thíos.
Basketball court
We have invested in new basketball posts- as well as lots of new basketballs and soccer balls. Just recently, we had our court lined out for basketball, soccer and Gaelic, Olympic handball and tennis.
It all helps to improve levels of play.

Junior Room Sports Day with Trentagh National School
The Junior Room had a great day today over at Trentagh National School for our Joint Sports Day! We had Class races, Egg and spoon races, and team events, including filling a bucket, obstacle course, hockey and lots more fun! We were lucky the rain held off and it was even sunny parts of the day. The children really enjoyed playing with their friends from Trentagh National School and the more time we spend with them, the more we like them! It was a great opportunity to make our sports day more fun, due to the increased numbers - it added a bit more competition to the day and some races were very tight indeed! We came back to school exhausted but happy!
Cumann na mBunscol- Rounders
Bhí cluiche corr (rounders) againn inniu sna Dúnaibh (Downings). Chaill muid an babhta 11-9 chuig Devlinreagh ach bhain muid sult as an mhaidin amuigh faoin aer!
Peace IV 'On the move'
Our first outing of the term with our Trentagh NS friends. We were all glad to meet up again. The Craobhín is a warm, spacious and sporty venue and the children enjoyed an hour and a half of all sorts of active learning- competitive and co-operative games, relay races, reaction games and lots more. We look forward to a busy year!
Cumann na mBunscol Rounders
We played Keadue NS today on the GAA pitch in Falcarragh. Deas a bheith amuigh faoin aer sa ghrian. Níor bhain muid ach tháinig muid sa triú áit. Three innings were played and the team were certainly getting into their stride tolwards the end, clocking up the home runs and points. Some nice batting, catching and good runs. Rounders is a great game, both boys and girls play and team work is everything.
Cumann na mBunscol finals
Our girls' team got through to the Division VI play offs in Mc Cumhaill Park, Ballybofey. The girls enjoyed the experience of playing on the county pitch. The girls played well- taking some excellent points and goals and using the skills learnt during their club work and also during the coaching sessions at school with Manus Friel.
Skipping
Skipping or jumping rope is an excellent activity. You don't need much space, and it's inexpensive. Tt's great for fitness and stamina, for developing balance and a sense of body symmetry. It's great fun and is social- you can jump in pairs or in groups, can enjoy reciting rhymes- either traditional playground rhymes or new ones...So, go on- get skipping!
4k run/walk for PE
Orienteering
We enjoyed an orienteering exercise around the school. Pupils learnt the basics of map reading, how to orient the map and how to move from one control point to the next one.
